"Manners from the Heart," written by Leana Greene and her daughters, Violet (9) and Blue (6), is a complete guide to manners and etiquette for children.  “Manners from the Heart” provides parents with all the essential things their child needs to know before they leave the house.  It is written in a humorous way that’s easy for kids to understand with a mix of both comical as well as more serious illustrations.

What sets “Manners from the Heart” apart from other books on manners is that it comes from a more spiritual place.  While it offers suggestions on how to behave in certain situations, its main focus is on how your actions make others feel.  We accomplish this by showing that manners are not just a bunch of “stupid rules” that we have to follow; rather, they come “from the heart” and are an opportunity to make other people feel good.

Leana Greene is a mother of three living in Santa Monica, CA with her husband, Browne.

Originally from Sweden, Leana came to the United States as a model and in 1992 she started Absolute Court Reporting in Beverly Hills, a high end court reporting service.  During the next 9 years, the company grew to over 45 employees and she also built a mock trial facility with a state of the art courtroom and jury deliberation room at their headquarters.

In 2003, Leana had her second child and sold Absolute Court Reporting to Paulson Court Reporting. She decided to focus more on her family but also pursued her dreams of singing and songwriting. Essentially having no experience in the music business, Leana was armed with only her talent and desire to succeed. Along with her partner, Cecilia Persson, Leana created her own record label from the ground up. Leana recorded her first album, Faith in Myself, whose first single, Dance with a Stranger, was an instant hit and went to number 1 on the Billboard Breakout Dance Chart. Leana followed up that success with a total of five Top 10 Billboard Dance Chart Singles.

In 2008, Leana had her third child and decided that the travel involved in the music business wasn’t compatible with her family. Ever the multitasker, while she was at home with her new baby, she began working on her two latest projects. She has authored a children’s book focusing on manners and etiquette to be published in 2010 called “Manners from the Heart.” In addition, she has developed “Kids in da House,” a family-based television and web concept with Richard Ulfvengren from Traktor.
